Shakespeare wrote many different types of plays, such as: Love, Action, Poetry, Tension, Death, Fun, Music, Dance, War, Betrayal, Comedy, History and Tragedy.
 
Other Non-Theatrical works:
 
The most popular work of Shakespeare that is not displayed on stage is Poetry. A popular work of poetry he wrote were Sonnets, which is a short poem with 14 lines and a strict rhyme scheme. Here are some facts about Shakespeares Sonnets:
  • Nature, Wheather and the Seasons are often used as Metaphor's throughout his Sonnets.
  • The Sonnets are either named with a number or the the first line of the sonnet.
  • After the first 8 lines there is often a change of direction and a new idea is introduced.
  • Shakespeare usually uses the last two lines of a Sonnet to make a statement- they are always a rhyming couplet.
